TOV: Episode 7

Posted in podcast on January 26th, 2010 by EM – Be the first to comment

The 7th episode of The Obstructed View is out fresh this morning!  This week I got to chat along with George James Malik of Snapshots, Tyler from the Triple Deke, and of course Chris Hollis from Motown Wings.  Producer Brian Kiernicki even joins in on the conversation this week, gracing us with his dulcet tones.  There’s some Bertuzzi talk, Osgood/Howard debate, and more.  As always, much fun, and I’m still thrilled to be asked back.

Download it here or subscribe on iTunes.

Phoenix game preview will be coming later this afternoon.

Does anyone actually like the sound of their own voice?

Posted in podcast on January 5th, 2010 by EM – 1 Comment

There’s a reason I really try to avoid leaving voicemails whenever possible.

Anyway, Episode 4 of The Obstructed View is now available for your listening pleasure.  I had a ton of fun talking Red Wings with Joe of Red Wings Guy, the other half of The Production Line, Rob, and of course, Chris Hollis from Motown Wings, and the fantastic producer Brian.  A very smart group of guys who know their hockey, and it was really a privilege to do this episode with them.

There’s some chatter about Filppula’s glorious locks of hair, the requisite Ville Leino bashing, some Olympic talk, Joe’s trip out East, and Brian gets riled up over Chris Osgood.

One thing that I realized after the fact that I wanted to mention was the Mikael Samuelsson response to being left off the Swedish Olympic roster.  I actually wanted to know what everyone’s opinion was about him giving Sweden a big FU.  Alas, slipped my mind, and somehow the only player I really managed to talk about on Tre Kroner was Peter Forsberg.  Yeah.

So go download!

The 3rd episode of The Obstructed View is up, so go listen or subscribe via iTunes.

This week’s episode features Kris from Snipe Snipe, Dangle Dangle, Tyler from The Triple Deke, and Kyle from Babcock’s Death Stare, and as always, hosted by Chris from Motown Wings and produced by Brian.

Good stuff this week, including more Leino bashing, and what Brian Rafalski would look like with hair.

OV:Ep2 and an H2H Update

Abbreviations abound (and alliteration).

The second episode of The Obstructed View is up and available here.  You can also subscribe via iTunes (search: Obstructed View).  This week’s episode brings Jessie from Bingo Bango, George James Malik from Snapshots, and the Chief from A2Y.  I listened to it at work today and kept cracking up at my desk.  I’m sure my boss was wondering why on earth I was laughing to myself all day.  Top notch stuff.  Put it on your iPod and listen to it during your commute–it’ll make it go by so much faster.

And an update on the “Herm to Hockeytown” fund, which has taken off in a way that I don’t think anyone anticipated.  It’s amazing, and incredible how much it’s taken off, with the last total being $1685.03.  Almost $1700.  And there are three months to go until the game.  I can’t wait to see how much is raised for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

The Obstructed View

Posted in podcast on December 14th, 2009 by EM – Be the first to comment

Now you can listen to what your favorite Red Wings bloggers have to say at the brand new podcast, The Obstructed View.

We’ve got a stellar lineup, and the inaugural episode features Kris from Snipe Snipe, Dangle Dangle, Petrella from The Production Line, Casey from Winging it in Motown, alongside Chris Hollis from Motown Wings and the fantastic producer Brian.  The panel will rotate each Sunday, and yours truly will be up in a few weeks after the new year.

Visit The Obstructed View or follow on Twitter.  And of course, Subscribe via iTunes.

Also on an unrelated note, you may notice that the URL for Big Red Machine has changed to www.redmachineblog.com.  Right now it’s just a redirect, and the RSS feeds will remain the same.  I will, however, be switching over entirely in the next week or so, as I’m dropping my run-ino-run.net domain in mid-January.  I would suggest updating bookmarks (for all of my 3 visitors).  Sorry to be a pain; I realize we went through this before just a few months back.
