All-Star Game mockery

I was just about to make a post on the farce that is the All-Star Game, and more importantly, this ridiculous threats that Bettman is claiming.

Mirtle just wrote a post though, that basically echoes my sentiments. The key part?

Riddle me this though: What does this mean for those that are going to miss the YoungStars game? Should Steve Mason now have to sit in that same game against Detroit? And what about Capitals star Nicklas Backstrom, who didn't even feign injury in opting out of the rookies vs. sophomores game?

I'm wondering the exact same thing. Datsyuk left the game versus Phoenix in the 3rd period with a strained hip flexor. And if there were one single player that you would offer the benefit of the doubt, how could it not be Nick Lidstrom? He's played in 9 ASGs in the past, and has always spoken about how being chosen for the game is an honor, and how he enjoys going.

It's completely incomprehensible.
